Void is a regular girl.... except for the fact that she was born with cat ears! When a strange tornado picks her up and brings her away from home, she embarks on an adventure where she has to fight to survive. On the journey, she meets and befriends four other kids like her. All together, they must save their own kind from an evil enemy before it's too late.
Chapter 1
It wasn’t her fault that she was born with those features. Her mother said it was a gift, but she thought of it as a curse. Now, whenever she thought of them, she heard her mother’s voice. “Void, don’t worry! Everyone will love it! You look so unique!” But she knew that she really didn’t mean it. Serval ears, sitting right atop her head! Why was she born with them? She didn’t know, but they didn’t mean anything. All they did was to make her a target at school for bullies.
The same thing happened that Friday morning. The day started out like any other day. She got to her bus stop, Mark Redfin, the biggest bully (and Jerk) in the whole entire school starts pushing her around. When she got to Science, her teacher, Mr. Brown, greeted her ‘’Hello, Miss Soar. Please take a seat.” She sat down at her desk, and everyone’s eyes focused on their teacher. “Ok, Class, today we are talking about photosynthesis. Please gather with your science partners.” Another long and boring science period with Mr Brown passed. He was yapping endlessly about Photosynthesis, and the square root of 64 (She didn’t know what his problem was. This was a SCIENCE class, not MATH Class). Finally, the school bell rang. “OK Class!’’ Mr. Brown said, “Please pack up your books, and prepare for your next period. Gym.” Finally! She thought. Gym! To Void, The only good thing about school was Gym, better than Taco Tuesday, and better than Recesses. Gym was her favorite thing in the world.
When She got to gym, Her favorite teacher, Mrs. Enfield was writing instructions on the whiteboard. ‘’Alright, Class!’’ She said in her normal Mrs. Enfield voice, “Let’s start with Dodgeball!” Dodgeball was one of Void’s favorite games. In fact, she was so good at it, she was named Captain of their team, The Lightning Bolts. That didn’t solve her serval ears problem, of course. ‘’One, Two, Three, GO!” Shouted Mrs. Enfield. Immediately, the game started. Of course, it started like all the times they played dodgeball. Void reached the starter line before anyone else and leap up to scan the room. Unlike most kids, she leapt 10 times higher than the average human. She leapt even higher than Mrs. Enfield! This amazed everyone, but she still stood out like a sour grape. Obviously though, it ALSO started out with her smashing Mark Redfin in the face with the biggest dodgeball she could find.
After Gym, it was lunch. Than, Math, Writing, and Reading. Another boring day. When she got home, she slumped down onto the couch. She went outside to get some fresh air, when her phone beeped. She answered it. It was her mom. What she heard next was NOT on her Agenda. “Sweetie, get into the basement RIGHT now. There’s a tornado that’s coming your way!!” Void started to race toward the house, when she heard a Woof Woof! Oh no! She thought. Buttons! Buttons was her puppy. He was still tied in the front yard! She bolted to the fence, where Buttons was waiting. “Hurry, Hurry!” She shouted over the howling of the wind, untying Button’s rope. Just as she was about to rush Buttons in, a strong gust of wind pulled her back. “Go, Go, GO!” She cried, pushing Buttons into the house. When she was just about to get in, she heard rumbling. She looked behind them. The tornado. It swirled dangerously close, and her legs froze in place. Buttons woofed, and she knew that he was right. They needed to get to cover. Suddenly, the tornado picked Void up. ‘’Buttons!” She screamed, trying to grab hold of something. She tried to use her serval ears to help her hop out of the storm, but it only made it worse. She couldn’t find anything. She looked back at Buttons, with the most terrified expression ever, and then disappeared, with the poor dog whimpering at the front steps.
Chapter 2
Void woke up in the strangest forest she had ever seen. What happened? She thought. She couldn’t remember anything. Her ears perked up though, as if to say, “It’s alright! You’ve got me!” Then, she realized what she was missing. Of Course! She thought. I can just jump over the forest! So, she took a deep breath, and leaped high above the trees. She saw birds perched on top of pine trees, a woodchuck in a slow sweeping river, and a girl with a bow and arrows heading toward her and - Wait, a girl with bow and arrows? Void leaped out of the way of an arrow just in time, did a flip in mid air, and landed on the girl, with a, Thump. “Oh.” Said Void, “Um, Sorry.” As an answer, the girl kicked Void off her, and pointed an arrow right at her chest. “Who are YOU?” She asked suspiciously. “Um, Hi” said Void, “I’m Void Soar. What’s your name?” The girl hesitated for a moment, and then said, ‘’Hunter. Hunter Wild.” Void smiled. “Well, Hunter, Why are you here?” Hunter was silent. “I ran away.” She finally said. “Why!?!” asked Void, clearly surprised. “I was a freak, okay?” she snapped. “How?” asked Void. “Well….” Hunter said. Void saw that the girls eyes were MUCH more different than hers. “I have golden eagle eyes.” “Well, you aren’t COMPLETELY a freak.” said Void. “Why?” “Because I have Serval ears!” said Void.
“Really?!” said Hunter excitedly, although she still didn’t trust her. ‘’NOW are you lost too. Do you want to go home?’’ “I dunno,” said Hunter. “It’s not every day you find a person with cat ears talking to you.” “Hey! want to join me on an epic quest home? Come on.” said Void. “I really can’t do this alone, and don’t you want to see your family again?” Hunter hesitated for a moment, and then said, “Fine. We’ll get ready tonight. Then, we’ll start out tomorrow morning.” “Ok,” said Void. So, they set up camp right in the middle of the terrifying forest. What better place to start their journey home.
Chapter 3
Void was awake before dawn, and noticed that Hunter was still asleep. She quietly got up, not wanting to disturb Hunter. She climbed out of the tent and looked around The forest was much darker during the night, and it sended a chill down her bones. She decided to take an early morning run. As she hiked through the trees, she looked up into the sky. Then, she thought about Buttons. ‘’Don’t worry,’’ she thought. “I’ll come back home someday.” Suddenly, a lone howl shook the forest like a giant had just awakened, and was hungry for food. Her mind thought only one thing. Danger. She bolted back to the camp, leaves crunching underneath her feet. She heard something else though. Footsteps. Behind her. She swerved around. A dark silhouette stood behind her. A Wolf? She thought. Suddenly, Hunter raced in front of her, notched an arrow, and pointed it at the figure. ‘’Stand back.’’ She snarled, stepping up. Suddenly, Void heard rustling in the bushes. More. and they were coming fast. “What are those things??” Void asked, her voice shaking with fear. ‘’Fellhounds.’’ growled Hunter. “They’re carnivorous animals, related to wolves. They are half wolf, half saber tooth tiger.” “How can a wolf and a cat be morphed together?” Void asked. ‘’I don’t know.” said Hunter, “but whenever you see a felhound, it means..” Suddenly, a huge felhound leaped at them! “RUN!!!!!!” shouted Hunter, bolting from the camp. The two of them sprinted away from the pack, with the felhounds right on their heels. “I’ve got an idea!” Shouted Hunter, ‘’Void! Boost me up!” At her instructions, Void jumped up, while holding Hunter. Hunter scanned the whole entire forest, when she spied an open cave that was just big enough for them that wasn’t to far away. “There!” shouted Hunter. “I see an opening!” “Go, Go, GO!!!!” shouted Void. They came back down, and sprinted for the cave. Void saw a felhound that was only inches away from getting Hunter… “NO!!” she shouted. She leaped up, bounced of a tree, and straight in the face with a tree branch! Then, she dove into the cave at the last minute, with hunter. “That...Was...AWESOME!!!” shouted Void! “You just learned a new power with your serval ears!” Said Hunter excitedly. Then she whispered to herself, Maybe there not useless after all.
Chapter 4
The two were walking down the stream, when they heard a rustle in the bushes. Void stepped back. ‘’Is it felhounds?” Void whispered quietly. “Only one way to find out.” she said. She slowly notched an arrow…..When the thing leaped out of the bush! “After it!” shouted Hunter, as they ran after the shape. Suddenly, the shape turned around, and Void froze in her tracks. It was a girl. She swerved around, and shouted. “Stop following me!” When she opened her mouth, Void noticed she had quite sharp teeth. “Hold on!” Shouted Void, “We’re not going to hurt you!” “Or, are we…” said Hunter, pointing the arrow at her. “Hunter…” Void whispered through gritted teeth. “Not helping..” “Stand back!” shouted the girl, baring her teeth. “Please.” said Void. “We won’t hurt you.” “Oh, all right,” said the girl. She emerged from the shadows.
“Do you want to come back with us to our camp?” asked Void. “Sure………….’’ said the girl. The trio walked back to camp. When they sat down at the campfire, Void asked, “What’s your name?” ‘’Caribbean.’’ said the girl. “Well, why are you out here?” asked Void. “Oh, Come On.” said Hunter. “We’re adventurers, not interviewers.” Void ignored her. ‘’Well?’’ She asked. “I came out here to find a better path.” said Caribbean. Then she said quietly, “I have bengal tiger teeth.”
Chapter 5
“Well, then you’ve found the right place!” said Void. “It’s not like that!” Caribbean shot back. “People tease me because of my teeth. Even adults!” “That doesn’t matter!” said Void. “They’re still useful.” she locked gazes with Hunter, bringing them back to the felhound incident. “You can come with us,” said Hunter. “We’re just like you!”
“How?” Caribbean snapped. ‘“Well…” said Hunter, “I have golden eagle eyes.” Caribbean paused. “And I have serval ears,” said Void. “So…” said Caribbean, “You DON’T think I’m…..a freak?” “Of course not!” said Hunter, “Our animal features aren’t curses. They’re gifts!” “I’ve never thought of it like that,” said Caribbean. “Well then why don’t you come with us?” said Void. “I guess there isn’t any other option,” sighed Caribbean. “Why don’t you get some rest?” said Void, “Hunter, you too. I’m on night watch today.” “Fine.” said Hunter. Void continued, “But I’m NOT going to bed at 7:00. We need to plan ahead. To be ready! I’m making a map of the forest. It should help us on our quest.” After a few minutes, the lights in the tent closed, and the zipper was zipped shut. While the silent night passed by, Void thought, “It’s a good thing I'm not traveling alone!” She couldn’t wait to see her house again, her mom, Buttons……
She immediately woke up from her thoughts, when she heard a rustling in the bushes. Slowly, she turned around, flashlight in one hand, spear in the other. The rustling was coming from a bush underneath the strange red tree that she had been waiting under. One. She thought. Two. The rustling grew louder. THREE! She jumped into the bush, and tackled the strange object that was underneath the bush. Then, she heard a growl. A familiar growl. And then she knew what it was.
Felhound.
Chapter 6
The Felhound kicked Void off of it, then jumped on her, and started lashing at her with its dagger like teeth. Void immediately grabbed her spear, and jumped up into the air to 10 feet. Coming back down, she rammed the felhound back into the forest with the wooden end of her spear. She heard another growl, and then another. Felhounds were coming from the forest like they had grown on trees! She rammed and stabbed felhound after felhound, but it just wasn’t enough. Finally, she shouted, “Hunter! Caribbean!” When she started to call out though, she heard a low growl. She slowly turned around. Behind her, was the biggest felhound she had ever seen. It had razor teeth as sharp as daggers, curving claws as rough as a harpy eagle’s talons, and the most vicious growl Void had ever heard. Void stepped back, too afraid to move. She took a deep breath, and her hand gripped tighter on her spear. Then, the felhound lunged at her! She sidestepped the fellhound’s attack, then rammed it back with her spear, and stabbed it into a tree! The felhound should have died by now, but for some reason it was tougher than the others. When she was just about to finish it off, it jumped off the tree, and landed on her! After a few more rounds of thrashing and stabbing, Void was getting weaker and weaker.... Suddenly, the air around Void turned into smoke. The felhound, being utterly confused at the moment, forgot about her, and tried to find a way out of the smoke. When Void finally caught her breath, a strange voice said to her, “Hurry! This way!” Not knowing what else to do, Void reluctantly followed the voice as it lead her through the smoke and wolves. For some strange reason, they managed to not get attacked. Whatever. Void didn’t care. As long as she was out of that smoke, and away from those felhounds, she was perfectly fine.
Chapter 7
Finally, Void and the strange character made it to a cave. When they walked in, the person lifted up the hood, revealing the kind face of a boy. “Hi!” said the boy, “I’m Matthew.”
“I’m Void. Thanks for helping me with those felhounds earlier.” “No problem,” said Matthew, “So why are you out here, Matthew?” asked Void. “I came in search of as man named Dread.” Void was happy that Matthew was there, and on her side, but it looked like he was hiding something. “Why don’t you come back to camp with me? You can meet my friends, Hunter and Caribbean.” “I guess,” said Matthew.
When they got back to camp, Void introduced Matthew to Hunter and Caribbean. Then, Matthew told them about Dread. “So, Dread is the person who doesn't like people with animal features?” Said Hunter. “Basically,” said Matthew. “So, why is he a threat?” asked Hunter. “He is like an animal person exterminator,” said Matthew. “Why do we care? you don’t have any animal feature.” grumbled Hunter, “And, it’s not like we can do anything.” “It will be a little bit tricky.” Matthew admitted. “The felhounds in this forest are actually under the control of Dread. Dread has a lab that studies people like you. He trained the felhounds to be able to smell you and follow you around. But that’s not the point- The point is, we can stop him!” said Matthew, “I have a plan.” “What would that be, Einstein Junior?” Hunter asked. “We need to find the machine that’s powering his lab and the felhounds, and destroy it,” said Matthew. “How are we supposed to do that?” Hunter shot back. “With this.” said Matthew. He pulled out a case, “It has all. The supplies!” “Like tasers, crowbars, and invisible spray?” asked Caribbean. ‘’No, like bottles to poison the felhounds, computer to hack into their databases to erase the records.” “Great, now when I’m supposed to be tasering people and saving my kind, I’m stuck with a nerd who wants me to do a stupid science project.” Hunter muttered. “So, how can we help?” asked Void. “I figured with your amazing ability to see things from miles away, jump ten feet into the air and hold down a truck with amazing dental work, two of you could distract his guards. One of you come with me.” Matthew laid out his map. ‘’Hunter, Caribbean, you’re going to distract the guards. meanwhile.” he said, running his finger on a tunnel drawn on the map, “Void and I will sneak through this pipe and make our way to Dread’s lab.” He patted his case. “That’s where this fellow comes along.” “This better work, or else...” muttered Caribbean. “It will, I promise,” assured Matthew, “I’ve mapped every tunnel in his factory. I even climbed through them myself,” said Matthew. “Then, let’s get moving already!” said Hunter. “Ok.” said Matthew, “but we need to go through gatlers path.” “What’s gatlers path?” asked Void. “The only way to get to Dread’s lab,” said Matthew. “What are we waiting for?” said Void, “Let’s get moving.”
Chapter 8
The group crept along the side of gatlers path. Void didn’t see anything nor hear anything. It was just silence…… “Hold,” said Matthew as they approached the middle of the path. There was a snaky shape on the road. It was glowing green and was moving around. “What is that?” asked Caribbean. “A gatler,” said Matthew. “Looks like a tiny root to me,” said Hunter, “Let’s just walk past it.” Before Hunter could finish her sentence, the root shot up like a bullet! It hovered above them, and snatched Hunter by the foot! “AAAHHH!!!” shouted Hunter as she was swept off the ground. Void grabbed her spear and threw it at the gatler. It dropped to the ground and turned into dust, dropping Hunter. “WHAT WAS THAT???” shouted Hunter. ‘’Duh, a gatler attack.” said Matthew. “Watch out!” shouted Caribbean. Instantly, the gatlers along the path rose up. “I think we made them angry…” said Void. They sprinted away from the gatlers, but they were as fast as bullets. Void jumped into the air, kicked a gatler, landed, and shouted ‘’Keep moving!” Caribbean squared a gatler off with her sharp bengal tiger teeth while Void gave Hunter a boost. Hunter saw the end of the path. “There!” She shouted, “The exit!” They bolted for the exit with the gatlers at their heels.
Finally, Caribbean swung open the gate, and locked it behind them, trapping the gatlers in their own path. “That was close,” said Caribbean panting and dusting herself off. “YOU THINK??” shouted Hunter. “Hunter, calm down,” said Void. “Well, we’re here,” said Matthew, staring up in wonder. Above them was a huge building, the size of a mountain. On the top level, bright lights flashed from inside the room. “Up there,” said Matthew, “That’s his lab.” “What are we waiting for?” said Hunter. She started to walk ahead, but Matthew grabbed her and pulled her back behind the boulder they were hiding behind. “Wait! We can’t just waltz in there!” “Why not?” growled Hunter. “Because,” said Matthew, pointing at the entrance. About 98-100 Guards were marching around the entrance, Sharpening spears and clicking guns. Hunter stared for a moment, then said, “I hate it when your smarter than me.” Matthew smirked, “Ok, Caribbean, Hunter, you distract the guards. Go, like talk to them or something.” “Why can’t we just stab them?” protested Hunter. “Fine, do whatever you want. Just distract them. Void, you come with me to the lab,” Matthew pulled out a map, “There’s a tunnel out of this brigade. We should be able to sne..” Before Matthew could finish his sentence, a figure emerged from the shadow, with a dagger pointed straight at Void’s chin.
Chapter 9
The wind blew off the figure’s hood revealing a
girl, with red hair. “Who are you?” she demanded, holding her dagger closer. “The real question is, who are YOU,” Said Matthew. “Technically, you’re the one who surprised us, pointing a dagger at Void.” “Shut it, smart mouth,” growled the girl. Void looked at her. “So, who ARE you? We mean no harm.” The girl sighed, lowering her dagger. “My names Avery.” “So, why are you here?” demanded Hunter, pointing her bow. Caribbean growled at her. “Please don’t freak out, I have a panther tail.” the girl said nervously.
The others gasped but Void didn’t. “Come with us then!” She said. “Exc-USE me, but may I remind you that WE JUST MET THIS PERSON,” shouted Hunter, clearly ticked off. “May I clearly remind you, Hunter,” said Void, “that I helped YOU when I didn’t even know you. Also, when I met you, you were about to shoot me with an arrow.” Well, she was going to stab yo-” Hunter bit her lip, knowing that it does not look good for her. “I mean, my tail isn’t all useless,” said Avery, “It helps me balance and I never fall down.” “You can be an acrobatic and ride a unicycle.” “SO WHAT?????” “Hunter, give her a chance,” said Void. “OK, FINE,” said Hunter, although she still seemed like she wanted to kick Avery as hard as she could. “Ok, guys, let’s stop wasting time and GET MOVING,” said Matthew. “Right,” said Caribbean, “If we keep arguing, we’ll never be able to get there until double shift!” “Exactly what are you doing?” asked Avery. “We’re breaking into Dread’s lab so we can destroy it and he can’t harm us anymore,” said Void. “Oh, good to know. Count me in,” said Avery.
Void nodded to Hunter and Caribbean. Immediately Hunter and Caribbean jumped from their hiding places, and attacked the guards. ‘’Avery come with me and Matthew! Void whispered as they crept past the fight to the room the security was guarding. Knowing that this was their only chance, Void took a deep breath and stepped inside.
Chapter 10
The room Void and her friends had stepped into looked more like a warehouse than a lab belonging to some evil genius. “Careful,” said Matthew. “There’s no light so the only chance we’re gonna find his main database is if we manage to sneak past those security camera-.” Suddenly the lights flicked on. “To late,” Said Void. Standing at the doorway was a man dressed in a lab coat. He had dark, coal black hair, a very unsettling smile, and looked like the person who would probably spend their free time electrocuting someone. “Why, hello,” He said. Void froze. “You’re Dread.” She realized. “Yes I am Dread. Miles Dread at your service.” Then he caught a glimpse of Voids’ serval ears. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Avery’s panther tail. “Ahh more animal feature humans. Perfect.” Void looked around. There was a pipe on the other side of Dread. If she could just time this correctly… instantly, Void jumped up, launched herself off the pipe, and crashed into Dread. Dread smiled. “Bad choice. Guards!” He called. The guards that weren’t still fighting Hunter and Caribbean rushed into the room. “Get rid of those animal humans.” Snarled Dread. “I don’t want wildlife in my lab.” “Cover me, Void!” Shouted Matthew, running for the main computer database. Void grabbed her spear, did a flip in mid air, and took out three guards heading for Matthew. As Matthew plugged in the “Shut down completely chip”, Void took down guard after guard. Suddenly, she heard a noise behind her. She turned around and saw a guard that was about to fire a taser at her. Then, the guard fell over. Void was grateful to Avery. The girls long sleek panther tail had knocked down the guard. Suddenly, Hunter and Caribbean ran into the room, helping Void and Avery. Dread took a deep breath and whistled. A group of felhounds poured in, biting and snapping at them. Void whipped around just as Dread pushed her toward the window. She grabbed his lab coat just as she broke through the windows. She and Dread fought in mid air, as they zoomed down closer and closer to the ground. Dread grabbed some type of rope from his coat, and threw the other end up to a soldier who was at one level of the lab. The soldier caught it, and Dread began to rise up. “Have fun in heaven, Freak!” Dread cackled. Void flipped over toward the building, and smashed feet first into the glass, tumbling into the building. She raced back up to the main engine room, and started helping her friends fight the guards and felhounds. A felhound bit down on her spear, and she jumped up, using her spear to throw it out the window. “Matthew! Any time now!” She shouted. Matthew started to add the final code. “Are you sure you want to do this boy?” Dread said in his cracking voice. “Don’t help these freaks. Join me!” “In your dreams!” Matthew shouted, as he started to type. He was almost finished, when a soldier knocked him to the side. The “Shut down completely Chip” skittered across the floor, and came to a stop right in between Dread and Void. Void didn’t hesitate to jump up and run toward the chip. Dread sprinted to the little chip too. They were about to collide when suddenly a sleek black rope picked up the chip, and threw it to Void. Avery winked at her, and jumped back into battle. Void threw the chip to Matthew, but a soldier intercepted it. Matthew kicked the soldier in the face, and plugged in the chip. Matthew yelled, “It’s plugged in! Everyone get out because it’s gonna blow!” All the guards started to run out, but Hunter and Caribbean held the long rope Dread had been using, and tripped a dozen of the escapees. “We’ll never make it out!” Shouted Caribbean. Void looked outside the lab and saw a long telephone wire that reached all the way down to the bottom of the building. She also spotted five long experiment cloths on Dreads table. “Everyone follow my lead!” She shouted as she grabbed a cloth and ziplinded down the wire. Avery gasped in amazement as Void slid down holding onto the cloth! “Looks like we don’t have a choice!” shouted Hunter as she grabbed a cloth and zipped down too. After her went Avery, than Matthew and Caribbean. Void looked behind her. BOOM, Dread’s lab exploded behind them.
When they reached the bottom, Void was gasping. They all looked at each other in silence. Then, they all cheered, as Dreads lab was reduced to ashes. Than out of nowhere, Caribbean hugged Void. “Thank you for believing in me,” she said. “You too,” said Void. “We should probably head back to camp now,” said Hunter. “You know, get our stuff, and then leave.” They were all silent for a moment. The thought of them going their separate ways after what they had been through made Void’s happy mood dim. “Wait!” said Void. “What if we didn’t split up?” “Really?” said Avery wide-eyed. “That’s an awesome idea!” Said Caribbean. “Then let’s do it!” said Hunter. “I would feel way more comfortable with you guys,” said Matthew. “It’s settled,” said Void. “We’ll all forget the families we ran away from or got blown away from them, and start a new life-all together.” At the thought of staying together, their smile brightened.
“Now let’s get to the place where that tornado picked most of us up,” said Void. They all laughed, as they started back to the clearing. When they got back, Void looked at her watch. “The tornado picked us up at three o'clock, which means it should come back…. Right now!” Avery gasped. A huge tornado was heading toward them. But this time Void didn’t feel panicked to see it. She felt happy. And so when the tornado came, she turned to all her friends and soon to be family. “You ready?” She asked. “Totally!” Said Caribbean. “Ok one…” she said. “Two…” she couldn’t wait to be back home. “Three!” At the signal the five of them jumped into the tornado together.
Chapter 11
When Void woke up she was in a place that she hadn’t seen for a very long time, a familiar place. “Well guys,” she said, looking up. They all got up and looked at the house that they would all spend time together in. Void’s house. Her house, except this time it wasn’t her house. It was their house. Suddenly a happy barking came from the backyard. “Buttons!” cried Void as the fluffy little puppy bounded up to her and licked her. “Aww…” They all said. Buttons licked her, then sniffed her new family members, and licked them too. “Buttons, this is your new family,” Void said. As they walked inside, Void’s mom, who had been devastered ever since she’d lost Void, Looked up and gasped, as she saw Void enter the kitchen. “Void!” She cried running up and hugging her. “Mom, I am back, and these are my friends,” said Void, “Avery, Hunter, Matthew, and Caribbean. Without them, I would’ve never found my way back. They don’t have families. Can they stay with us?” Mom looked at them and understood immediately, “Well, since they are best friends, I guess they’re family!” smiled her mother. “Yes, they are,” Void said. Then she looked at her new family and smiled.
“Come on, we got two extra rooms with bunk beds. Let me show you to them.” “Ok, I call the top bunk,” said Hunter. All of them laughed as they followed Void upstairs. Void smiled. Now they could start a new life. Although their adventure had ended, a new one had just begun.
